Watch Out for the Increase in the Mesothelioma Survival Rate

Cancer, one of the most deadliest disease, haunts the lives of almost every other person these days. The newest kind of cancer called Mesothelioma is a new kind of cancer and is very serious and can be life threatening as well. The biggest thing about mesothelioma is that is a very serious cancer and it cannot be diagnosed till the later stages. This is the reason why the mesothelioma survival rate is very low. This is also the reason why this is the most feared cancer of all. The symptoms for this kind of cancer only appears in the later stages which means it can silently kill from the inside.
By the time, the suffering person finds out that he has the cancer, it is too late to treat it. There have been several studies that have, been conducted with, regards to this cancer. It is extremely life threatening and a very serious condition. The person who has it, has a year or less to live. This is another very difficult truth to accept about this cancer. Mesothelioma is a very rare and uncommon cancer and there are studies on it being, conducted every single day.
However, there are, a few studies that show that patients who are suffering from mesothelioma have been able to live for a little more than three years as well. This was a break through which made the mesothelioma survival grow a little bit. Everyone in twenty people are, known to have lived for 20 years with this disease. And this is after the cancer has been diagnosed.
However, the medical world has, not given up hope and is, continuously struggling to find new ways of increasing the mesothelioma survival rate. The mesothelioma survival rate depends on different factors, like the size of the tumor, the stage, which the patient is in and whether the tumor can be, removed completely by just performing a surgery. It also depends on how long it has taken to find out about the cancer and the amount of fluid that is present in the chest, abdomen, etc.
A very intreststing fact about meothelioma is that it attacks people who have an average age of 61 years and it is, found that 81 percent of the suffering people are all males. There are studies being performed everyday that are hoping to increase the mesothelioma survival rate at least in small amounts. Chemotherapy has shown to be able to increase the mesothelioma survival rates, which is really good news for the world. Even though this is a new cancer, there are a lot of studies that are fighting to find a cure.
Cancer is a very deadly disease and it can cripple not just the person who is suffering from the disease but also the entire family and all well wishers. We can only hope that with all the studies that are being conducted a cure will soon be on its way to help those people who are suffering from this deadly disease.
