Cholesterol is within each and every one of us. The human body produces cholesterol so that it may function correctly. Unfortunately, eating food and drinking alcohol that is high in sugar, fat and oil may do more harm than good to a person. The individual will soon suffer from high blood pressure, diabetes, heart attack or a stroke. However, all of these byproducts can be prevented through proper eating and exercise. Doing so however, requires plenty of sacrifice and commitment from the individual.
In addition to eating less and improving our diet, the best way to reduce one's cholesterol is through exercise. This will increase the heart rate and metabolism in the body allowing it to expel the harmful oils, which are detrimental to one's health. Those who have not exercised before should first consult with a physician to find out which is safe. If you have a current heart condition you may not wish to participate in a strenuous routine. Walking is a great low impact aerobic and still will help to improve cholesterol levels.
Should the physician say the patient can participate in high impact exercises; there is running, swimming, aerobics and bicycling. Medical history is not the only factor that will direct you to the proper exercise for you.. This will also depend on gender, age and weight.
The doctor can make a plan then the person should relay this to the fitness instructor as to what is safe or not. The instructor can then devise a personalized plan for the individual that is safe to follow. After the second week of successful exercise and activity, there should be beginning signs of improvement to the levels of good cholesterol and bad cholesterol. The participant should also begin seeing signs of beginning weight loss.
Exercising is also considered to be the best way because the use of drugs has known to cause side effects when the person takes this. Many times our schedule or budget might prevent us from enrolling in a gym or fitness class. Not to worry; as there are other ways to increase your heart rate and improve muscle tone. For starters, men and women can go brisk walking early in the morning or before going to work.
Some offices and hospitals encourage people to walk up one or two flights of stairs instead of using the elevator to go up or down a few floors. If your place of work has a large employee parking lot, try parking a few more yards away taking the opportunity to grab a few extra minutes of exercise by walking further.
During any exercise, it is best to drink lots of water. This will prevent the body from dehydration that often leads to exhaustion. Instead of going to the fountain every few minutes, it is best to bring a water bottle. Not only will this save much time, it will also keep the person focused on the task at hand and performing at the current pace.
Your health is the most important thing to you. By striving to exercise and remain fit, you will be able to lower the amount of bad cholesterol within your body and live a longer and healthier lifestyle than those choosing to do nothing. |
