When you have a panic attack, what goes through your mind? First you feel the racing heart beat, then you feel your hands going numb, you feel light headed, and finally you might notice you start getting fizzy or light headed. These are signs that something's wrong. Do you know what causes these symptoms? Chances are you think you have some kind of rare disease or you are suffering from heart problems.
Anxiety or Heart Problems?
The truth is as your fearing for your life because you have some kind of life threatening illness you are really just feeling the symptoms of a panic attack. Yes, might were probably told this many times, but you can't believe it can you?
Anxiety Symptoms Explained
Well, maybe if someone explained the symptoms you could believe it. When you get a panic attack you enter a fight or flight response mode that forces your body to pump adrenaline and other chemicals in your body that allow you to either fight the scary danger or run away as fast as you can. These chemicals take away blood from fingers, face, and toes so you can have a more powerful fist (if you were to fight) or more powerful legs (if you were to run).
A Hidden Danger?
Of course your not running or fighting are you? Usually people who suffer a panic attack do not have to face any real danger, but their body's are telling them to be afraid. The real question is. why are you so scared? What causes you to enter that fear response mode? That is not an easy question to answer and it can take hours, days, months, or even years to find the answer. You have to work hard to answer that question and you need the right help and direction. |
